CURRICULUM
The PGDM Program has four semesters spread over two years. In the first year the
curriculum strengthens the fundamentals in all areas of functional management
and provides a holistic perspective of the general management. The students are
provided with a pre – PGDM study material. On arrival at KMS, there is a
foundation module of one week to enable all the participants attain the same
level of understanding in the basic issues / concepts related to management. A
unique feature of the first year is the “Attitude and Value Development”
activities which involves managerial trait development, outbound activities to
improve team work, career counseling and understanding the role of a manager.
Apart from this there are guest lecturers, workshops, panel discussions,
seminars to help the holistic development of participant.
At the end of the first year the participants will undergo 8 weeks
of intensive personality development module. In this module the participants
will undertake four-week socially relevant project and four weeks of corporate
grooming.
The second year specialization provides inputs in the chosen area of
specialization and is customized to the students career focus and industry
requirements.
At the end of the third semester participants will undertake 20 week
corporate projects with our industry partners.
The total duration of both the semesters (I & II) in the first year
is 46 weeks, the second year comprising of specialization subjects for the
semester III is of 24 weeks and semester IV is of 22 weeks.

Marketing: This area focuses on understanding the
market, the consumer, the marketing model and approaching different situations
with winning marketing strategies for the organization. This program prepares
students for a career in product management, advertising, direct marketing,
consumer relations & sales.
Finance: The last decade has seen the emergence of
new concepts in various areas of finance, investment and economics. Our PGDM
program with specialization in Finance focuses on the concerns of the financial
industry, covering topics like International Financial Management, private
equity mergers & acquisitions, options & futures and corporate governance.
Human Resources Management: With the globalization
and the boom in the economy, human management has now become a key issue for all
the organization. The program aims at providing in-depth knowledge with respect
to recruitment and selection, training and development, industrial law, wage and
salary administration.
International Business: Specialization in
international Business teaches you how globalization has affected international
trade and about the complexities of the global supply chain. Through a global
focus on economics and finance you can gain a practical understanding of the
international monetary system, licensing, joint venturing and equity investment
and the cultural and legal factors that affect product development, distribution
channels and promotion.
